John Ryan, Global Practice Leader for Power, Renewable Energy, and Cleantech, serves as US Regional Vice President for TRANSEARCH International. With an incredible career spanning over three decades, John has truly made a name for himself in the renewable energy industry. He’s worked with an impressive 250 public and privately held companies, overseeing numerous global C-suite, Vice President, and director-level searches, ensuring they find the right talent.

John’s professional success stems from his deep understanding of the power and energy industry and unparalleled ability to stay ahead of the curve. His expertise sets him apart from the crowd, allowing him to provide a level of service that his clients simply can’t get anywhere else. Throughout his career, he’s also supported private equity firms with critical portfolio company needs and provided executive coaching and leadership assessment services.

He holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Linguistics from the prestigious University of Chicago and speaks both Japanese and conversational German. Although he grew up in Boston, he now calls Chicago home with his family.

John likes to get his hands dirty when he’s not at work. He’s an avid car enthusiast who enjoys restoring and racing classic and performance cars. But don’t let this hobby fool you; John is just as passionate about his work as he is about his cars.
